Plans, balance and billing
You open Settings, choose Billing and see your plan, your balance and anything that is due. You pick a bigger plan, pay the difference in a side panel, and the extra room is there as soon as the payment goes through. Most of this page is for people who have the Billing right in the organisation: every Owner, and anyone given it. Organisations, people and teams explains rights.
The plans and what they cost are on the Prices page of 1p.dev. This page covers how the account site works with them. It gives no prices of its own.
Choose a plan
A new organisation has no plan. Its Owner lands on the dashboard headed Pick the power your AI agents get, which takes the place of the list of installations. Once you have a plan, Change plan on the Billing tab opens the same page, headed Change your plan.
The Solo tab holds plans for one installation and the Team tab holds plans for several. Enterprise is arranged with Player One's team: it shows a Book a call button and an email address. Switch between Monthly and Yearly at the top. A yearly plan costs ten months for twelve, which the switch labels 2 months free.
Each card shows the plan's price a month, how it is billed, and what it holds: how many installations, how much Memory and how much Storage. The Prices page uses other words for the same things: a stack is an installation, brainpower is memory and inventory is storage.
Select a card's button, such as Choose Spark, and a side panel shows the price and what you pay now. Its Promo code box and Pay from balance tick are covered below. The plan starts once the payment goes through. Closing the panel while a payment is open gives the purchase up, and nothing is charged. If you leave a first purchase unpaid, a notice on the page keeps a Pay button for it until you pay or cancel it.
Your plan covers the platform. The AI is yours to bring: inside your installation you connect an AI subscription you already pay for, such as a ChatGPT plan, or an API key, and a new installation asks for one before anything else. Tokens, cost and caching weighs the two ways of paying.
What a plan holds
A plan is a pool of room: a number of installations, a total of memory and a total of storage. Inside the pool you create, size and resize installations as you like and pay nothing more. The plan card shows a bar for each of the three, with a count such as "1 of 3 installations".
Beyond the pool you pay only for what goes beyond it, at a rate per installation, per GB of memory and per GB of storage a month. The plan card and the plan chooser show the rates. Whenever you create, resize or delete an installation, the panel tells you what it does to this: Within your plan, no charge, or Beyond your plan with the extra charge. Adding room beyond the pool charges you now for the rest of the period. Removing it credits the rest of the period to your balance. This exists only on top of a plan.
Stopping an installation does not free any room in the pool. Delete it to do that.
Free trial
On the Solo tab, if your organisation is offered one, a line reads "Try one installation with" its memory and storage "free for 14 days, no card" with Start free trial. Anyone who may create installations can start it. A trial is offered once for an organisation and once for a person, and not to an organisation that has had a plan.
The trial holds one installation at one size. The plan card reads Trial and the days left. A second installation, a bigger size or a custom domain waits for a plan. Player One reminds the Owner shortly before it ends.
When it ends without a plan, the installation is stopped and kept with everything in it. Choose a plan and it starts again as it is. Choose one during the trial and the installation moves onto the plan as it is, and the trial ends.
What the Billing tab shows
Settings has two tabs, Billing and General. People without the Billing right see only General.
- Your plan: its name and price, a status if it is not simply active, the bars described above, any discounts, the next payment with its date and method, how it is billed, Change plan and Cancel plan.
- Balance: your balance, a Top up button and your default payment method with Manage.
- Payment settings: Auto top-up and Pay as you go.
- Billing details: what appears on your invoices.
- History: Invoices and Balance activity, each showing the latest entry. Select one to open the full list.
An invoice waiting to be paid shows as a notice at the top, with a Pay button.
Change your plan
Choosing a bigger plan starts it now. The unused part of your current plan is credited against the new one, so you pay the difference, and the card says Upgrade. Choosing a cheaper plan reads Switch at period end: your current plan runs to the end of the period, nothing is paid now, and the plan card shows "Switches to" the new plan on that date with an Undo button until then.
If a cheaper plan has too little room for the installations you have, the panel asks what happens to the ones that do not fit after the switch. Keep them, billed beyond your plan carries on charging for them. Remove them then deletes them with their data on that date.
Buying anything on a plan that is set to end carries the plan on past its end date, and the summary says so.
Monthly or yearly
On the plan card, Billed has Monthly and Yearly ยท 2 months free. A switch takes effect at the next renewal. The dialog shows what your next invoice will be, and Undo on the card takes the switch back until then. A yearly plan is billed at the price of ten months.
Promo codes and discounts
Any panel that charges you has a Promo code box with Apply. A code that works shows what it does. A code that does not says why: there is no such code, it has expired, it does not apply to this change, or it has already been used.
Some discounts need no code. They show as badges on your plan card, with an end date if they have one, and in the summary of what you are about to pay, where one that lasts reads "For as long as you keep your plan". The new member price described on the Prices page is one of these.
Cancel your plan
Cancel plan asks you to confirm. Your installations keep running until the end of the period you have paid for. The dialog then tells you how long they run after that, and that they are suspended after it. Nothing is credited for the current period. Your balance stays for usage. Export anything you want to keep first: Create and manage your installations covers exports and Back up and move your data covers backups.
A cancelled plan shows a notice with the date it ends and Resume. Select Resume before that date and the plan carries on.
If a payment fails
Say a renewal does not go through. Your plan shows Past due, and a notice at the top of the Billing tab names the invoice, the amount, the date it is due, and the date to pay it by to keep your installations running. A card payment that fails is retried. An invoice that cannot be collected from a saved method is emailed to your billing email with a payment link, and the notice has a Pay button for it.
If the invoice is still unpaid when that date passes, your installations are suspended. A suspended installation is stopped, not deleted, and its card says Suspended for payment. Pay the invoice and they start again. Fix the cause before then: add or change a payment method, then pay from the notice. The Terms page on 1p.dev sets out how long your data is kept if a payment is never made.
Balance and top-ups
The balance is credit you hold with Player One. Anything that bills by use is paid from it ("usage is paid from here", the card says), and it can pay invoices too. The card shows the balance, and any promo credit with the date it expires. Promo credit is spent first.
- Select Top up.
- Choose an amount, or type another.
- Select the button, which names the amount. With a default payment method, that is the whole job: it is charged at once. Change pays with another method instead, and a bank that wants to check it is you asks in the panel.
The panel gives the smallest and largest amount you can add. A total you cannot go past each month applies too, and the panel says how much of the month is left when you are close to it. For more, contact support. A declined payment offers Use another method. When it succeeds a message says "Balance topped up by" the amount.
Balance activity lists everything that moved money in or out, newest first, with filters for Top-ups, Usage and Invoices. If you added money by mistake, ask support.
Auto top-up
Auto top-up adds money for you before the balance runs dry. Open it, select Turn on, and set "When the balance falls below" an amount and "Add" an amount. It suggests a threshold of seven days of your current usage. It charges your default payment method, so it needs one. If a charge fails, the row says so and when the next try is.
Pay as you go
Pay as you go lets the balance go below zero, up to a limit, so work carries on when it runs out. What is owed goes on the monthly invoice, and Pay now settles it sooner. Where Player One has not enabled it for your organisation it reads Not available, and you contact support. Once it is enabled you turn it on and off yourself, and you can set Your budget below the limit. It pauses by itself while an invoice is unpaid, when you have no default payment method, or when the limit is reached.
How a payment is split
Anything you owe is paid in this order: promo credit, then the balance, then pay as you go if it is on, then your default payment method. If there is no method, an invoice is emailed with a payment page. In a panel where you are buying something, untick Pay from balance to leave the balance alone and charge the whole amount to your method.
Payment methods
Manage on the Balance card opens Payment methods. Add a payment method opens a form for a card or any other method it offers. Make default chooses which one pays renewals, auto top-up and pay as you go. A method that cannot be charged without you present is marked "for payments you make yourself only", and cannot be the default. You cannot remove the default method while money is owed. Settle it first.
Billing details and invoices
Billing details hold the email invoices go to, your company name, address and tax ID. Edit opens them in a panel. The email starts as the Owner's and you can change it. Give the address a two-letter country code, such as DE.
Invoices lists every invoice, newest first, with its number, date, total and whether it is Paid, Due on a date, Unpaid or Void. An open one has a Pay link. Each has a PDF.
Refunds
Every plan comes with a 30-day refund guarantee, counted from the day you first buy a plan. To use it, email [email protected] from the address on your account within those 30 days, as the Terms page on 1p.dev sets out. The plan then ends and your installations are stopped.
